The Swiss Federal Department of Foreign Affairs (FDFA) and the OECD have have carried out new cost-of-living surveys. For Swiss expatriates life has become more expensive in many countries.
Calculated in Swiss Francs the cost of living has most of all increased in Australia and New Zeeland (+7.7 %) and in Sweden (+7 %). In South Africa, Brazil and Korea as well as in Poland, the Czech Republic and Hungary everyday consumer goods and services cost in average approximately 5 % more than six months ago.
On the other hand, life has become more reasonable in the USA, in the United Arab Emirates and in China as well as in Japan and Argentina.
